John became an integral part of Hamra Enterprises in 2009, entrusted with the oversight of Hamra’s Panera operations. With an impressive career spanning over 40 years, John has honed his expertise in leading restaurant operations, having made significant contributions to renowned brands such as Wendy’s, Starbucks, and Panera.

Drawing from his extensive experience, John’s career advice is succinct yet powerful: “Take your job seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously. Be tough, but kind.” To new team members, he assures them of Hamra’s commitment to their success and the supportive environment that fosters growth.

A Chicago native, John holds a Business Administration degree from DePaul University. Outside of work, he finds joy in photography, hiking, and searching for the perfect diner with his wife, Tara. The mountains of Colorado and California are where you’ll find John and his wife hiking each year. John and his wife’s love for animals now finds them adopting senior dogs, so they can spoil those dogs in their golden years. Volunteering at animal shelters will be part of John’s future in retirement.
